“I am very pleased to be part of the Auburn Memorial Hospital (AMH) team, a group of very dedicated people,” stated Scott Berlucchi, new President/Chief Executive Officer of AMH who has been onboard since April 16, 2007. He continued, “In meeting Board members, physicians and staff, I have been deeply impressed with their tremendous commitment to the mission: to have excellent health care accessible and available right here in Cayuga County. As I meet more and more people from the area, it is clear that the community supports and values the hospital. I am excited to be part of the drive to continue to move forward.”

Mr. Berlucchi is looking for a home in the area and his family will join him here this summer. He is married and has three sons. “This is a beautiful place to live and I look forward to enjoying it with my family,” he said.

Robert K. Bergan, Esq., President of the AMH Board of Trustees, shared: “Mr. Berlucchi is a visionary leader with demonstrated expertise in rural hospitals and a proven track record for financial turnarounds. His qualifications are a fine match for Auburn Memorial Hospital as the institution continues to move forward in its mission to serve the healthcare needs of the community.”

Mr. Berlucchi was the former President/Chief Executive Officer of the Elk Regional Health System (ERHS) at St. Mary’s in Pennsylvania. Composed of six corporations, ERHS has an annual operating budget of $81 million and more than 1,200 employees. Among his accomplishments there, Mr. Berlucchi engineered and led a comprehensive operational and financial turnaround of the health system, achieving 20% growth in net revenues in three years. He also implemented a medical staff development plan and physician recruitment campaign that strengthened core clinical service lines and developed new capabilities.

Prior to his tenure with ERHS, Mr. Berlucchi served as a top administrator for several healthcare organizations including President/Chief Executive Officer of the Lancaster General Susquehanna Division, a 62-bed acute care hospital with a $25 million budget and 156 full-time employees.

Mr. Berlucchi holds a master’s degree in health service administration from George Washington University, Washington, D.C.
