IGNITE, Cayuga County’s young professional’s group, celebrates its two-year Anniversary with new programs and events for 2007

To commemorate their 2nd anniversary, IGNITE sponsored its first “Art After 6” event, which was held at the Cayuga Museum and attended by over 100 people. Funds raised at the event generated $1000 donation to Booker T. Washington Community Center. This is an example of young professionals supporting a worthy community organization while raising the cultural awareness of the participants.

IGNITE is excited to announce their 2007 schedule of events, but for those that have not heard of the organization before, here’s a little history…

Background Story:
We seek to unite all of Cayuga County's promising young talent - be they farmer, artist, business owner or specialist. Through this grass-roots effort, we want to celebrate the diverse array of resources in our community and make it a better place for all.

Mission:
To unite a diverse group of young professionals by fostering activities and civic engagements, creating investment in our region.

What is a Young Professional?
A young professional is simply a goal-oriented individual between the ages of 21-39 with a mind set to pursue a career path. It is much less the job or vocation that defines the young professional as it is the individual’s drive and investment in his or her own future, and consequently the future of the community and our nation as a whole.

Members of IGNITE Strive To:

  • Invest ourselves in the future of the region
  • Grow a more vibrant society through civic and cultural experiences
  • Network through social and professional opportunities
  • Inspire a common vision of our region’s promise
  • Teach and mentor future young professionals
  • Empower the residents of our community
