"Good News" from Auburn

Turns out that we are not losing as many young people as we thought
According to demographics provided by the Economic & Social Research Institute (ESRI), the Auburn population for the 20-24 and 25-29 age cohorts are expected to increase slightly during the next five (5) years. These are the fastest growing population segments in Auburn. A housing market study indicates that additional rental units targeted toward this population segment are needed in the market. Downtown is recommended as a place to look to for providing these rental units especially on the second and third floors of downtown buildings. The housing market study also recommended condo development.

Job Growth in Auburn
According to the Department of Labor there are 130 more people are employed, working in the City of Auburn now, when compared to the 2005 twelve month average. This is a net increase which replaces jobs lost due to the closing of the Bombarier facility.
