Auburn Schools Rank Upper Third in Nation
Over the past five years, the Auburn, New York Enlarged School District has consistently ranked in the upper third of ALL school districts nationally. The following information was extracted from the Expansion Management Relocation Toolkit: School District Report.
"For the past 15 years, Expansion Management magazine has published comparative rankings on academic performance, spending on public education and the relative affluence and education of the adult population within the community. The magazine's annual Education Quotient compares every school district in the U.S. with a minimum enrollment of 3,300 students in K-12."
"In today's technology-driven economy, growing companies around the country are using a prospective community's public education system as in indicator of the type of work force they would likely encounter should they choose to open a facility. Auburn's ranks in the top third when the following criteria are compared with other school districts:
Graduate Outcome measures the districts final output by looking at college board scores, graduation rates. It is the most heavily weighted factor.
Resource Index measures a community's financial commitment to public education and includes such things as teachers' salaries, student-teacher ratio and per-pupil expenditures.
Community Index measures the economic and education background of the adult population."
Auburn Enlarged School District has consistently ranked in the upper third of all school districts nationally. The data used to determine this ranking indicates that the community values education. This is a very strong message to send to prospective employers. Congrats to the School Board, superintendent, teachers, staff, students parents and taxpayers.
